Naomi Lane is a Composer, Musical Director, and multi-instrumentalist whose work blends memorable melodies, witty lyrics, and an uplifting energy that lingers long after the final note. Equally at home writing joyous, hook-filled tunes or flexing into other genres, she approaches every project with a storyteller’s heart and a keen ear for emotional nuance.
Her passion for composition began early, penning her first Musical Crown Him King at just 15. Since then, she has worked across theatre, festivals, and corporate stages as a composer, arranger, choir leader, function musician, and recording artist. She has composed for Plays, musically directed productions, and led choirs with warmth, humour, and precision. In 2021, she partnered with the Portsmouth Climate Festival to create an original climate-focused musical that successfully toured the South Coast for two years, bringing environmental storytelling to audiences of all ages. Other highlights include performing at David’s Tent to an audience of over 8,000.
For Naomi, writing for musicals is more than craft — it’s a way of giving voice to the unspoken. She believes music has a unique ability to reveal a character’s deepest thoughts, and she draws inspiration from composers such as Frank Wildhorn to create work that is heartfelt, vibrant, and unforgettable.
